Baltimore, Md. - Sophomore Lea Day was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. Day helped the Greyhounds earn two wins in conference play, keeping Loyola undefeated in the MAAC at 5-0-0.
Day earned the honor for the first time in her carer after scoring three of Loyola's four goals in wins over Siena (2-1) and Marist (2-0). She scored both goals in game versus the Saints and the initial goal against the Red Foxes' giving her two game-winning goals last week. The three goals were Day's first of the season.
The Greyhounds return home this weekend for the final two home games of the 2006 season. Loyola hosts Fairfield on Friday, October 20 at 3:00 and Iona on Sunday, October 22 at 1:00.
