Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's soccer team hosts two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games this weekend with Saint Peter's visiting on Friday at 3:00 and Manhattan on Sunday at 1:00. Loyola is currently undefeated in conference play with a record of 5-0-0 in the league and 11-4-0 overall. In the most recent polls, Loyola was ranked sixth regionally by Soccer Buzz and 10th by the National Soccer Coaches of America Association.
Saint Peter's is currently in 10th place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with a 1-12-0 overall record and a 0-5-0 mark in league play. The Peahen's lone win is over Delaware State. They are led in scoring by sophomore Kyle Marsh's four goals. She is followed by junior Jenna Charnley with two goals and three assists.
Last season, the Greyhounds topped Saint Peter's on the road, 2-0. Both Loyola goals came in the second half from Naomi Daniels and Carolyn Kennington. Loyola holds a 13-3 advantage in the all time series with the Peaehen's.
The Jaspers currently rank seventh overall in the conference with a record of 6-8-1 on the season and a 1-4-1 mark in the league. Their conference win was a 3-0 victory over Saint Peter's. Manhattan earned to conference nods this week with Caitlin Newkirk earning the Rookie of the Week award while goalkeeper Alicia DeFino got the Defensive Player of the Week honor. Newkirk leads the team in scoring with four goals and an assists, followed by classmate Chrissy Reina with four goals. Manhattan travels to Rider on Friday before visiting Loyola.
In the 2004 match-up, the Greyhounds defeated Manhattan 3-0 with goals from Kennington, Daniels and Andrzejewski.
