Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's soccer team travels to Siena and Marist this weekend for a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match-ups. The Greyhounds travel to Siena on Friday for a 3:00 game and to Marist on Sunday for a 1:00 game.
Loyola is currently 5-5-2 on the season and undefeated in MAAC play at 3-0-0. The `Hounds are led in scoring by this week's MAAC Rookie of the Week, freshman Christina Gomez. Gomez has six goals and three assists on the season, including five goals and one assist against MAAC opponents. She's followed in scoring by senior Carolyn Kennington who has four goals and three assists this season. Senior Courtney Arikian also has four goals. Eight other Greyhounds have registered at least a goal or an assist this season. Freshman Brittany Henderson has played a majority of the minutes in goal posting a 1.35 goals-against average and .722 saves percentage.
Siena is currently 6-4-2 on the season and 3-0-1 in MAAC play. The Saints three non-conference wins are over Holy Cross (3-0), Hartford (2-1) and NJIT (6-0) and their three conference wins are over Iona (3-0), Manhattan (2-1) and Saint Peter's (4-0). Siena tied Fairfield in conference play (1-1) and Albany (0-0) in non-conference action. The Saints have fallen to Stony Brook (2-1), Rhode Island (2-0), Vermont (2-1) and Navy (4-0) in non-conference play.
Leading Siena in scoring is Kristen Turner with eight goals and an assist. She's followed by Erinn Flaherty's four goals and one assist. Susie Blaisdell rounds out the top three with two goals and three assists. 10 other members of the Saints squad have scored a goal or recorded an assist this season. Siena has started Patti Carroll in goal the last five games and nine this season. She posts a goals-against average of 1.26 and a .784 saves percentage.
Marist is 3-9-0 on the season and 1-3-0 in conference play before this weekend's games. The Red Foxes host Rider on Friday before Loyola on Sunday. The Red Foxes have topped Drexel (3-1) and Brown 2-1) while defeating Saint Peter's (2-0) in MAAC play. Their losses are at the hands of Lehigh (2-1 OT), Army (3-0), Maine (3-0), New Hampshire (2-0), Bucknell (2-1) and Saint Joseph's (2-1) in non-conference action and Iona (1-), Fairfield (3-1) and Manhattan (3-1) in league play.
The Red Foxes' are led in scoring my Kate Fox's four goals. Teammates Kristen Leonhard and Melanie Ondrejik have each added two goals while Caitrin Farry has a goal and an assist. Nine other members of the Marist squad have recorded either one goal or one assist this season. Caitlin Nazarechuk has started all 12 games in goal with a 1.85 goals-against average and a .700 saves percentage.
