Oct. 8, 2012

EDISON, N.J. - Loyola University Maryland women’s soccer goalkeeper Didi Haracic has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office today.

The senior stopped all eight shots that she saw in back-to-back road wins over Saint Peter’s and Manhattan this weekend. In a 6-0 win over the Peacocks, she earned three saves and then stopped five shots in a 1-0 win over the Jaspers to run her consecutive-shutout minutes to 194:49. It also marked her third shutout of the season and second in MAAC play.

For the season, Haracic has 67 saves and has allowed 16 goals in 1294:16 minutes played.

This marks the second time Haracic has been named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week throughout her career, while it is the first time this season. She was also named the MAAC Rookie of the Week in 2010.

The Greyhounds remain on the road this weekend, heading to Rider for a 1 p.m., contest on Saturday.
