Women's Soccer Takes to the Road

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's soccer team returns to the road this week after three straight home games. The Greyhounds travel to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponents Iona and Fairfield.

The Gaels are first on the schedule with a 3:00 game in New Rochelle, N.Y. on Friday. Iona is currently 7-4-1 on the season and 3-0-0 in the conference. The only common opponent between Loyola and Iona to date is Georgetown who the Greyhounds defeated while the Gaels fell to the Hoyas 3-0. In the conference Iona has defeated Fairfield (3-0), Manhattan (1-0 OT) and Saint Peter's 3-0). They are led by sophomore Maggie Prairie's seven goals and one assist. Defensively, Iona has allowed just eight goals so far this season.

Loyola travels to visit the Stags on Sunday, October 9 for a 3:00 game. Fairfield holds a 5-4-1 record and a 2-1-0 conference mark. The Stags have defeated Saint Peter's (6-0) and Manhattan (1-0 OT) but fell to Iona (3-0). The Stags host Rider on Friday before facing Loyola. Fairfield has four players on the squad sitting at two goals a game for a team best.

The Greyhounds hold a 9-4-0 overall record so far this season and an unblemished 4-0-0 conference record with wins over Niagara (2-1 OT), Canisius (3-0), Marist (5-1) and Siena (3-1).
