Baltimore, Md. - Freshman Brittany Henderson was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference Monday afternoon. Henderson earned the honor for the first time and in just the third week of her collegiate career.
Henderson was named the defensive Player of the Week after holding Georgetown without a goal in 110 minutes of play. The game versus the Hoyas ended in a 0-0 double overtime tie. Henderson was credited with three saves. She improved her goals-against average to 2.13 and her saves percentage to .591 with the shutout.
The Greyhounds return to action on Tuesday when they travel to College Park, Md. to take on Maryland.
