CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland freshman Morgan Crable earned the program’s first-ever Patriot League Rookie of the Week award, as announced by the league office Monday.

Crable, a back from Ellicott City, Md., played a strong defensive game in the Greyhounds’ 2-1 victory at Towson University.

The rookie made her first appearance in a collegiate contest, starting against the Towson Tigers.

Crable helped the defense hold the Tigers scoreless in the first half, with a header block just minutes before the start of halftime. She controlled the backfield and played solid defense for the remainder of the second half, and guided Loyola to its first win of the season.

This marks the first career award for Crable.

Loyola hosts Temple University, Sunday, Sept. 1 at Ridley Athletic Complex. The game marks the first meeting of the two programs. Game time is slated for 1 p.m.
