BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland women's soccer coach Katherine Vettori announced that midfielder Gabrielle Tana (Maryvale Prep) will join the Greyhounds in the fall as a member of the Class of 2015.

Tana comes to the Greyhounds after starting all four years at Maryvale Prep where she scored 37 goals and had 24 assists for the outdoor and indoor soccer teams. Last fall, Tana finished with seven goals and six assists and was named to The Baltimore Sun's All-Metro Second Team.

She led the Lions' indoor soccer team to a perfect 10-0 record and the IAAM "A" conference championship. She was selected to the 2010 All-State, All-Metro and All-American teams, as well as the IAAM "A" conference All-Star team.

"Gabrielle is a smart, technical central player who has a fantastic work rate, and we are very happy that she is joining us," Vettori said. "She is going to provide a lot of depth for us in the midfield."

Tana was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2010 Girls High School Scholar All-America Team that requires a minimum 3.75 cumulative GPA, as well as displaying excellence on the playing field. She is also a member of the National Honor Society.
