BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland women’s soccer team gears up for a pair of games this weekend, taking part in the Headers for Hope Showcase on Saturday, April 12, in Columbia, Md.
The Greyhounds’ first game will begin at 9 a.m., as the team takes on fellow Patriot League rival the United States Naval Academy. Following the previous meeting, the Black Knights of West Point will play against Loyola in a 2:15 p.m., matchup. Showcase tickets cost $10, with all the proceeds benefiting the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults.
Headers for Hope was created to combine founder Louise Waxler’s passion for soccer and helping those with cancer. The organization works with teams and tournaments to raise money for local cancer charities.
