Garcia To Coach U.S. Youth Team In Costa Rica

BALTIMORE - Loyola women's soccer Associate Head Coach Peye Garcia has been chosen to lead the United States Youth Soccer Region I Olympic Development Program (ODP) 1992/1993 team in four games that will be played in Costa Rica.

The team, which will be comprised of top-level Under-15 and Under-16 players from Region I, which stretches from Maine to Virginia and West Virginia to the Atlantic Ocean.

Garcia, who will be the team's head coach, and the squad depart for the Central American country the first week of April and will train in the capital city of San Jose.

Region I plays its first game on Saturday, April 5, against the Under-17 team from the host nation.

Following a cultural event and dinner on Saturday night, Garcia's team will play the Under-20 team from Chile.

After two days of training in San Carlos, Costa Rica, the team will return to San Jose and play the Under-17 team from Trinidad & Tobago on Thursday, April 10. The Region I squad wraps up competition on Friday, April 12, against the Honduran Under-20 team prior to returning to the United States
