Rider Slips Past Women's Soccer With Late Goal

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Rider University's Claire Thompson scored in the 85th minute, and the Broncs defeated Loyola University Maryland, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.

The teams played to a scoreless draw until Meghan Mohr sent a pass to Abi Cottam who headed the ball to Thompson who finisehd from five yards out.

Loyola (9-9-1 overall, 5-4-0 MAAC) had two shots following the Rider goal, but one went wide and the other was blocked by a Broncs' defender.

The Greyhounds outshot Rider (9-7-2, 5-4-0), 19-10, and they put 10 shots on goal. Rider's Alex Post made 10 saves, while Loyola's Danielle Ippolito saved three.
