Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Loyola remained undefeated in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's soccer action Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 win over Marist. The Greyhounds are now 7-5-2 on the season and 5-0-0 in MAAC play, having not lost a regular season conference game in 43 outings. The Red Foxes fell to 4-10-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the conference with the loss.
The first half was scoreless with just three shots taken by Marist in 45 minutes of play.
But Loyola came alive in the second half at 56:15 when Lea Day's shot went through Marist keeper Caitlin Nazarechuk's legs and into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Sophomore keeper Amanda Piccirilli recorded one save for Loyola while Nazarechuk was credited with two for Marist.
Loyola finished the game with a 9-4 advantage in shots and a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.
The Greyhounds return to Baltimore next weekend for the final two home games of the 2006 season. Loyola hosts Fairfield on Friday, October 20 at 3:00 and Iona on Sunday, October 22 at 1:00
