Women's Soccer Uses Second Half to Top Saint Peter's, 2-0

Jersey, City, N.J. - The Greyhounds scored two goals in a three minute span late in the second half to defeat Saint Peter's 2-0 in women's soccer action Friday afternoon. Loyola improves to 9-3 overall and undefeated in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference at 5-0 with the win while Saint Peter's falls to 1-13 and 0-4 in the conference.

After a quite first half, Loyola's Naomi Daniels livened things up with her goal at 68:38. Daniels took a pass from freshman Tyhira Glenn and beat the Saint Peter's defense for the goal.

Just under three minutes later, Carolyn Kennington added the insurance goal for the 2-0 win. Kennington passed the ball in on a corner kick to Ali Andrzejewski who immediately tapped the ball back to Kennington for the goal.

Loyola held a 18-5 advantage in shots as well as a 4-1 lead in corners.

Kate Gilfillan played all 90 minutes in goal with one save while the pea Hen's Andrea Kovalcik stopped eight Loyola attempts.

The Greyhounds stay on the road as they face Manhattan on Sunday, October 17.
