Orlando, Fla. - The Loyola College women's soccer team used a late second half goal to top the University of Central Florida, 1-0 Sunday afternoon. The Greyhounds improve to 3-3-0 with the win while the Golden Knights fall to 2-5-0.
The Loyola goal in the 84th minute was scored by junior Courtney Arikian after sophomore defender Brynn McGrath crossed the ball to her. It was Arikian's first goal of the season and McGrath's first assist for Loyola.
The Greyhounds and Golden Knights each recorded 15 shots on the day. Loyola freshman Amdana Picirrilli stopped two shots in goal while UCF's Beth Harless recorded six saves.
Loyola returns home to take on UMBC on Friday, September 16 at 3:00.
