Former Greyhound Named Davidson Coach

Davidson, N.C. - Former Loyola College lacrosse player Betsy Economou has been named the women's lacrosse interim head coach at Davidson. Economou, a three-sport varsity athlete at Loyola, earned All-America honors in lacrosse and graduating as the school's all-time leading women's soccer scorer in 1995.

Over the past 10 years, Economou has coached women's soccer and lacrosse on both the collegiate and high school levels, and is the founder of Impact Lacrosse, a developmental girls lacrosse program based in Charlotte.

Economou will take over a lacrosse program that finished 9-7 in 2005 after returning to independent status.
