Women's Lacrosse Announces 2005 Schedule

Baltimore, Md. - Head women's lacrosse coach Kerri O'Day announced her 2005 schedule Wednesday. The schedule includes eight home games and eight road trips for the Greyhounds."We're excited about the level of competition our schedule brings," O'Day said. "It's a strong schedule that will keep us competitive the entire season."Loyola opens the 2005 season with three straight home games beginning with local rival UMBC on March 1. The Greyhounds will also host North Carolina and Hofstra over the following five days.The next four games will be played away from the Evergreen campus including a trip to Boston University, a first for the Greyhounds.At the close of March, Loyola will return home to face George Mason on March 30 and then open April with Penn State the second.The `Hounds then return to the road for exciting road trips at Syracuse to play in the Carrier Dome and to visit Duke.The final five games of the season if not played at home are relatively local. Loyola will host UPenn on April 20 and Stanford on the 23 before meeting Towson at Johnny Unitas Stadium. The team is back to Geppi-Aikens Field for the final regular season home game against Virginia on May 3. And to close the season, a visit to Ludwig Field and take on Maryland.The Greyhounds finished 2004 with a 14-4 record and ranked as high as fourth in the nation.
