BALTIMORE - Four Loyola University Maryland women’s lacrosse players are among the 105 players that have been selected to try out for the 2017 U.S. Women’s National Team. Tryouts will be held from August 5-7 at the national team training center at the US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.
Tabasso and VanThof will be among 37 midfielders vying for a spot on the team, while Kamely is one of 30 trying out for an attack spot. On defense, Mathis is one of 30.
In addition, Tabasso is one of 13 rising sophomores that will be at the event.
After the three-day tryout, approximately 36 players will be selected for the U.S. tea, which will trail in the lead-up to the 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s World Cup in Guildford, England. Ultimately, 18 players will represent the U.S. as the team goes for a third consecutive and eighth overall world title.
