Women's Lacrosse Wraps Up 2005 Home Season

Baltimore, Md. - Tuesday the Greyhounds host Virginia in the final home game of the season. The contest is also the final at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field for seniors Erin Cyphers, Katie Guarino, Liz Hannan, Sarah Hannan, Kim Lawton and Rachel Shuck.

Virginia leads the series over Loyola 18-6-1. Six of the last eight contests have been one point games. The last Loyola victory came in 1996 with a regular season 11-10 overtime win.

Kate McHarg leads the teams in scoring with 50 goals and two assists. Second in point scoring is senior Rachel Shuck with 15 goals scored and 29 assists to her credit this season. Rounding out the top five is Sydney Greene (31 goals), Maura Kenny (24 goals) and Kate Filippelli (16 goals).

Filippelli leads the Greyhounds in groundballs with 34. Laura Carper leads the team in caused turnovers with 16. On the draw, McHarg leads with 40.

Loyola's starting keeper, Kim Lawton ranked fifth in the nation this week in saves percentage. She currently posts a .571 percentage and a 10.02 goals against average in 437:19 minutes played. Cindy Nicolaus has played 402:41 minutes in goal with a 11.92 GAA and a .503 mark at saves percentage.
