PROVIDENCE, R.I. - For the fifth time this season, Grace Gavin has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday afternoon. Gavin recorded six goals and seven points as the 13th-ranked Greyhounds defeated Villanova, 17-15 Saturday afternoon.
The Baltimore native scored four of her six goals in the second half in the win over the Wildcats, including her league-leading fifth game-winning goal with 10:41 left to play.
In the victory, Gavin recorded both her 150th career goal and 200th career point and now has 153 goals and 204 points in her three seasons at Loyola. Both totals are sixth in program-history.
For the season, Gavin leads the Greyhounds with 59 goals, 19 assists and 78 points and leads the BIG EAST with 4.88 points per game. Her 3.69 goals per game rank second in the conference.
In conference play, Gavin is even better, pacing the BIG EAST with 4.43 goals per game and 6.00 points per game.
Nationally, Gavin ranks second in total points, fourth in total goals and fifth in both points and goals per game.
The Greyhounds close out their regular season as they travel to #12 Georgetown Wednesday, April 28 in a matchup televised on Verizon FiOS. Opening Draw from Multi-Sport Field is slated for 7:00 pm.
