Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's lacrosse team wraps up its BIG EAST schedule this week as it travels to Syracuse for a 4:00 game on Saturday. The Greyhounds are 2-11 on the season and 0-4 in conference play while the Orange are 9-4 overall and 3-1 in BIG EAST action.
ABOUT THE `HOUNDS
Senior Kate McHarg has taken over the lead for the Greyhounds in goals and points with 24 goals and three assists for 27 points.. She's followed in points by sophomore Colleen O'Keefe who has 16 goals and 10 assists on the season. Junior Maura Kenny has 20 goals and five assists. Classmates Kate Filippelli and Alicyn Brunnett follow Kenny. Filippelli has 13 goals and four assists while Brunnett has nine goals and five assists. Freshman Emily Gibson rounds out the top scorers with six goals and four assists.
Junior Kristen Stone leads Loyola in both groundballs (33) and caused turnovers (22) while Gibson leads on the draw with 25.
Freshman Karen Nicolaus is the team's starting keeper, posting a 13.58 goals against average and stopping 40.2% of the shots she has faced.
SCOUTING THE ORANGE
Syracuse is 9-4 on the season and 3-1 in the BIG EAST this season. The orange has posted wins over Albany (19-6), Binghamton (23-4), Towson (18-10), Notre Dame (16-13), Connecticut (18-16), Harvard (23-12), Colgate (16-8), Rutgers (21-12) and Cornell (22-9). Their losses have come at the hands of Dartmouth (11-6), Virginia (10-8), Georgetown (9-8) and Northwestern (10-7).
Katie Rowan leads SU in scoring with 40 goals and 17 assists. She's followed closely by Halley Quillinan, Christina Dove and Jill Depetris who each have 41 points. Ashley Pike added 30 goals and eight assists while Kristin Brady has scored 19 times while adding five assists.
Bridget Looney leads the team in groundballs (35) and caused turnovers (26) while Dove is the leader in draw controls with 39.

The Greyhounds and the Orange have met just four times in the history of the women's lacrosse programs. Loyola won the first two meetings in 2003(14-10) and 2004(14-11) while Syracuse won 2005 game, 11-9. The Greyhounds took a 3-1 lead in the series when the upset the then No. 10 Orange 13-12 last season.
