BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland senior attacker Grace Gavin was named The Baltimore Sun Womene's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Friday.
The award, which is new this season, is given to one men's and one women's player each week.
Gavin, who was also named the BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, scored 10 goals and had five assists in the Greyhounds' two games last week.
She tallied four goals and three helpers on Wednesday at UMBC, and she then recorded six goals and two assists last Sunday versus Denver.
Entering Friday's BIG EAST opener at Cincinnati, Gavin is riding a 49-game streak of scoring at least one goal. She has scored at least one goal in 60 of Loyola's 61 games since she joined the team as a freshman in 2008.
