PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior midfielder Emily Gibson has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. The award is Gibson's second from the conference this season.
Gibson scored four goals and two assists for six points in Loyola's 18-7 victory against Stony Brook on March 24 at the Ridley Athletic Complex. Gibson also recorded a career-high five draw controls as well as four caused turnovers and a pair of ground balls.
Her five draw controls and four caused turnovers helped her crack the top ten in both categories on the Loyola all-time list. Gibson also cracked the century mark in draw controls as she has cradled 103 draws in her career, tying her for ninth all-time at Loyola.
The Jarrettsville, Md., native, ranks second on Loyola with 19 goals and 29 points, while her ten assists and 20 caused turnovers lead the Greyhounds.
The Greyhounds (7-3, 1-0 BIG EAST), who have won five straight games, host a pair of BIG EAST conference games as they take on Cincinnati and Notre Dame April 3 and April 5, respectively. Opening draw for both games at Ridley Athletic Complex are slated for 12:00 p.m.
