Women's Lacrosse Travels to George Mason

Baltimore, Md. - Wednesday night the Loyola College women's lacrosse team plays in its second night game of the season at George Mason. The Greyhounds are looking to snap a three game skid with a win over the Patriots.

Loyola has won all 15 meetings between these two teams. Last season, the Greyhounds hosted the patriots after dropping three straight games to defeat GMU 15-3.

Melissa Venturi and Laura King tie the lead in goals scored with 14 a piece. Venturi adds three assists for the point lead. Mellisa Curry (seven goals and three assists) and Sarah Bryant (six goals and four assists) each have ten points.

Megan Bartlett holds the lead in groundballs with 17 while Jess Shelton has a team-high 17 caused turnovers. King holds the top spot in draw controls with 11.

Roxie Alsruhe has plated a majority of the minutes in goal, posting a 9.88 goals-against average and a saves percentage of 43.9%.

Junior Kate McHarg continues to lead her team with 33 goals and four assists on the season. She's followed by sophomore Maura Kenny has 13 goals and one assist this season. Seniors Talia Shacklock (10 goal and two assists) Sydney Greene (five goals and three assists) and Stephanie Walker (six goals and two assists) round out the top five scorers.

McHarg also leads the team in groundballs with 22. Shacklock is the leader at center with 21 draw controls. Senior Laura Carper and junior Liz Peregoy have a team best 11 caused turnovers.

Freshman keeper Alex Piraino, who has started the last six games, posts 13.50 goals against average a 38.2% saves percentage.
