Women's Lacrosse Visits Boston

Baltimore, Md. - Saturday the Greyhounds travel to Boston for their first meeting with the Terriers on Nickerson Field. The teams have met twice prior to today's game, both times in Baltimore. Loyola is currently 2-3 on the season while BU is undefeated at 3-0.

Loyola holds a 2-0 advantage in the series with the Terriers. The Greyhounds have defeated Boston twice at home with Saturday's contest being the first on Nickerson Field. Last season, Loyola topped the Terriers 12-7 while in 2003 they earned a 9-5 victory.

Boston University is currently 3-0 with an 8-7 upset over Hofstra Wednesday. The Terriers have also defeated Monmouth and Massachusetts this season.

Freshman Jenny Hauser leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and an assist. She is followed by junior Mary Beth Miller is second with six goals and six assists. Alyssa Trudel and Angie Martin are tied at third with ten points each. Trudel has seven goals and three assists while Martin has scored four goals and six assists.

Michelle Bussichella leads the teams in groundball pickups with nine and is second in caused turnovers with seven. Trudel leads in caused turnovers with eight while Danica Strutt is the leader on the draw with seven.

Rachel Shuck leads the Greyhounds in overall scoring with 17 points from five goals and 12 assists. Kate McHarg is second in points but first in goals with 13 goals and an assist. Sydney Greene ties McHarg in goals 13 for third in scoring. Freshman Kate Filippelli and Maura Kenny round out the top five with 10 (nine goals and an assist) and nine points (eight goals and an assist) respectively.

Laura Carper leads the Greyhounds in caused turnovers with seven. McHarg is the leader at center with 11 draw controls. Kristin McKay leads in groundballs with 16 and is closely followed by McHarg and Filippelli with 15.
