Heneberry Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore defender Ana Heneberry has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon. This is the first weekly honor of Heneberry's career.

Heneberry, the team's top matchup defender, recorded a team-high six ground balls and also caused a pair of turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds. In an 11-9 victory over Delaware, Heneberry recorded a career-high four ground balls.

For the season, Heneberry is second on the team with nine caused turnovers and fourth on the Greyhounds with 13 ground balls.

Loyola (4-3) is back in action Tuesday, March 16, when they host BIG EAST Conference rival Rutgers in the women's lacrosse opener at the Ridley Athletic Complex. Opening draw is slated for 7:00 pm.
