Baltimore, Md. - Junior Kate McHarg certainly made an impact in her first week of BIG EAST play, earning the conference's Offensive Player of the Week award. It is the first ever BIG EAST weekly honor for the Loyola women's lacrosse team and the first in McHarg's career. Georgetown's Maggie Koch was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
McHarg led the Greyhounds in scoring last week with 11 goals, including nine against conference foe Rutgers en route to being named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. The nine goals in her BIG EAST debut was a career high. She earned a career-high 11 points in the game with the addition of two assists. The junior also picked up seven groundballs against the Scarlet Knights.
McHarg has twice been named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll. Teammate Liz Peregoy earned a spot on the honor roll this week after causing six turnovers.
The Greyhounds travel to Wellington, Fl. To face Notre Dame in a BIG EAST match-up to be televised on CSTV on Thursday.
