Women's Lacrosse Hosts Boston University Wednesday and Travels to UConn on Saturday

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's lacrosse team splits the week with a home game vs. Boston University on Wednesday and a road outing at BIG EAST opponent UConn on Saturday.

Junior Maura Kenny leads Loyola in scoring currently with 11 goals and an assist. She is followed by sophomore transfer Colleen O'Keefe with five goals and six assists. Senior Kate McHarg is third on the team in points with seven goals and an assist this season. Junior Kate Filippelli adds four goals and an assist while classmate Alicyn Brunnett and freshman Emily Gibson each have a goal and three assists to their credit. Sophomore Elizabeth Weber has scored three times. Freshman Marianna Smith has a goal and classmate Bridget O'Keefe has one assist to round out all scores.

Freshman Karen Nicolaus has recorded 39 saves on the season in the cage for Loyola. She has a 10.98 goals-against average and a .464 saves percentage.

Gibson leads the team on the draw with eight this season while junior Kristen Stone leads in groundballs with 13 and caused turnovers with eight. Senior Liz Peregoy is second in all three categories with nine groundballs, six draw controls and six caused turnovers.

BU has played just two games so far this season with a loss to UMass at home by a score of 13-11 and win over Hofstra (14-10).

The Terriers are led in scored by Lauren Morton with eight goals and one assist. She is followed in points by Angie Martin with three goals and five assists. Erica Baumgartner is third in points with two goals and five assists. Sarah Dalton is fourth with five goals and an assist while Traci Landy adds five goals to round out the top scorers.

Morton also leads on the draw with seven to date this season while Jenna Golden has a team-high four groundballs and Kelly Munroe leads in caused turnovers with three.

Golden is the team's starting keeper having posted a 9.85 goals-against average and .433 saves percentage in her first two outings.

This is just the fourth meeting between these two teams with Loyola winning the first two outings and the Terriers winning the most recent.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIESUConn is currently 4-1 this season and hosts Harvard at home on Wednesday before hosting Loyola. The Huskies have topped California (13-12), UC Davis (13-9) and Central Connecticut (16-4). Their only loss came at the hands of Yale (11-7).

Shannon Burke is the teams dominant scoring leader with 15 goals and 22 assists in just five games. She's followed in scoring by Kristin Link with 13 goals and two assists. Kim McGinty has nine goals and an assists while Whitney Michele rounds out the top scorers with eight goals and two assists.Jenna Moulton is the team's starting keeper with a goals against average of 9.07 and a saves percentage of .500.
