Women's Lacrosse Hits the Road

Baltimore, Md. - The Greyhounds hit the road for the first time this season as they visit Delaware. Loyola is currently 11th in the latest IWLCA poll with a 1-2 record while the Blue Hens are 1-0 and rank 19th.

Loyola holds a 20-7 advantage in the series with Delaware. The two teams first met in 1980 with the Blue Hens taking the contest 11-6 at the USWLA Division II Tournament. The two teams have met every season since except 1982. The Greyhounds have won the last 17 straight meetings.

Delaware has played just one game this season as they defeated Rutgers on the road 12-9. The Blue hens are currently 19th in the IWLCA Poll.

Aginst Rutgers, Erin Edell led with three goals, followed by Laura Miller, Katie Hogan and Jenny Diana with two.

Loyola won its home opener over local rival UMBC, 20-8 this week while falling in its second contest, 9-8 to North Carolina.

Rachel Shuck leads the Greyhounds in overall scoring with 12 points from three goals and nine assists. Sydney Greene is second in scoring and first in goals with eight. Kate McHarg ties Greene in points with seven goals and an assist. Freshman Kate Filippelli and Maura Kenny round out the top five with seven (six goals and an assist) and six points (five goals and an assist) respectively.

Laura Carper and Erin Cyphers lead the Greyhounds in caused turnovers with five and three respectively. McHarg is the leader at center with five draw controls. Filippelli is best at ground balls with 12, while McHarg is close behind at 10.a
