PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Loyola freshman midfielder Grace Gavin (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll today, the conference office announced.
In three games to open the season, Gavin tallied a team-high tying eight points. She is second on the team with six goals and tied for first with two assists.
Additionally, Gavin leads the Greyhounds (1-2) with 12 draw controls.
Gavin scored three goals against fourth-ranked North Carolina in the first game of her collegiate career. She added an assist and three draw controls against the Tar Heels.
In Loyola's 20-9 victory over Davidson, Gavin scored a goal and had an assist and helped Loyola win 22 draw controls. She led all players with six draws.
She then scored twice and had three draw controls at 10th-ranked Georgetown in the Greyhounds BIG EAST opener.
Loyola plays at UMBC tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.
