BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland women’s lacrosse junior Hannah Schmitt has earned another pair of accolades for her play in Loyola’s season-opening road win at No. 6 Virginia on Saturday. In addition to being named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, the Malvern, Pa., native was selected as the Baltimore Sun Player of the Week and was awarded the Patriot League’s Rockin’ Refuel Performance of the Week.
Schmitt tied a career-high six goals in Loyola’s upset win over the Cavaliers at UVa’s turf field. She notched five goals in the second half, including three in a 6-1 run that saw the Greyhounds turn a 5-2 deficit into an 8-6 lead. Her six goals marked her 15th career hat trick and ninth game with four points or more.
