ANNAPOLIS - The No. 16 Loyola University Maryland women's lacrosse team snapped Navy's 10-game win streak at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon, picking up a 14-4 win to finish league play undefeated and win the Patriot League regular season title.

The win marks Loyola's 10th-undefeated conference season in program history and its second-straight in Patriot League play. With a 16-0 record in Patriot League games the past two seasons, the Greyhounds broke the league's record for consecutive conference games won, winning 16-straight, and will host next week's Patriot League Tournament on Friday and Sunday.

Senior Annie Thomas led the Greyhounds (12-4, 8-0 Patriot League) with six points on one goal and five assists, while classmate Kara Burke added five points on four goals and one assist. Senior Hannah Schmitt had four points on two goals and two assists and redshirt senior Taryn VanThof had three points on two goals and one assist. Seniors Molly Hulseman and Sydney Thomas both contributed two goals and sophomore Bailey Mathis rounded out the scoring with one goal.

For Navy (12-4, 6-2), Loren Generi led the way with two points on one goal and an assist, while Casey Browne, Jenna Collins and Morgan Young had one goal apiece.

Annie Thomas came out hot for the Greyhounds, assisting the first three goals of the game, to get Loyola a 3-0 advantage by the 19:56 mark. Sydney Thomas finished the first feed and then Burke did at 24:07, before a second Thomas-to-Thomas goal at 19:56 gave the Greyhounds their three-goal advantage.

Navy's lone goal of the half came on a free-position shot at 17:12.

From there, the Greyhounds scattered five goals throughout the remainder of the period to take an 8-1 lead into the break. The first goal came from Burke at 14:39, followed by a free-position goal by Mathis at 13:05. Annie Thomas then assisted VanThof and Hulseman, respectively, before a man-up goal from VanThof, assisted by Schmitt, closed out the half.

The Greyhounds wasted no time out of the break, scoring just 54 seconds into play, as VanThof won the opening draw control and Burke found Hulseman for the goal.

Burke netted her third goal at 26:21 to complete her sixth hat trick of the season, and 16th of her career, before a goal from Schmitt, assisted by VanThof, 13 seconds later got the Greyhounds a running clock, up 11-1.

VanThof again won the next draw control and got it to Schmitt, who found Burke for a fast-break goal at 24:44, marking the Greyhounds' ninth-straight goal, their longest scoring streak of the season.

After holding Navy scoreless for 28 minutes of play though, the Midshipmen broke through with a free-position goal at 19:14.

From there, the two squads traded scores, with Annie Thomas and Schmitt scoring for Loyola, leading to the final score of 14-4.

Juniors Maddy Lesher and Molly Wolf anchored the defense, with Wolf stopping a game-high 12 shots to pick up her 12th career 10-plus-save game. Lesher picked up four ground balls and caused a game-high four turnovers.

Loyola will begin Patriot League Tournament play on Friday at 5 p.m., with the second semifinal game being played at 7:30 p.m. The Greyhounds' semifinal opponent will be determined following Tuesday's quarterfinal round.
