Women's Basketball Returns to the Road

Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's basketball team returns to the road this weekend to play in their seventh road trip out of the first nine games this season. The Greyhounds (2-5) will visit the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth (2-3) on Sunday, December 19th at 2:00.

Loyola played the first six games of the season on the road before playing in their home opener last Sunday by hosting Towson. The Greyhounds won that contest 51-48 and were led by junior Katie Scherle with 11 points.

VCU is currently 2-3 and most recently fell to 69-47 against George Washington last Sunday. The Rams have posted wins this season over Loyola's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent Siena (62-53) as well as Radford (69-56). They are led in scoring by senior Lauren Hogan with 13.0 points and 8.8 rebounds a game.

These two teams have met just twice before with the Rams winning both contests. The most recent VCU win over Loyola was on December 21, 2001 by a score of 72-69.
