Women's Basketball Hosts Towson in First Home Game of the Season

Baltimore, Md. - After six consecutive road trips, the Loyola College women's basketball team hosts Towson in their first home game of the 2004-05 season. The Greyhounds (1-5) are looking for their second win of the season over the Tigers (5-1).

Towson holds the advantage in the 29 year series between the two teams, 20-10 although the Greyhounds have won the last three battles including the most recent, a 55-50 win at Towson Center on December 15, 2002. The last Tiger victory over Loyola was almost exactly three years prior with a 68-59 win on December 18, 1999.

Loyola is currently led in scoring by junior Krystle Harrington at 8.7 points a game. She is followed closely by sophomore Jill Glessner and junior Lauren Troupe with 8.5 points a game each. Katie Scherle leads on the board with five rebounds a game and is followed by Jackie Valderas who pulls down 4.8 rebounds off the bench and Glessner at 4.7. Harrington leads in the assist column with 4.2 a game.

Towson is on a three game win streak and holds a 5-1 record. Kelli Talbot leads the Tigers with 13.7 points per game and is fouled in double digits by Alison Freeman at 12.5 and Kelly Robinson at 10 points a game even. Robinson leads on the board with seven a game while Freeman tops out in assists with 4.4 a game.
