The Greyhounds open their conference schedule Friday night at Iona. Loyola is on a three game win streak while the Gaels have dropped their last two after opening the season 2-0. Its the first MAAC game for both teams and the first conference match-up for head coach Joe Logan.
Iona is currently 2-2 overall with season opening wins over Bucknell (75-58) and Wichita State (73-71) while the Gaels have most recently fell to Notre Dame (74-55) and Georgia (97-60).
Leading the squad in scoring is Toni Horvath with an average of 11.8 points per game. She is followed by Martina Weber's 11.3 points per game and Tiara Headen's 9.5 points per game. On the boards, Reagan Pettijohn leads the Gaels with an average of 8.3 rebounds a contest.
Brittany Dunn continues to lead the Greyhounds in scoring as she has so far this season with an average of 12.6 points per game. She is followed closely by classmate Jill Glessner at 11.6 points a game. Rounding the Greyhounds in double-figures is Jackie Valderas with 10.4 points and a team-high of 6.8 rebounds a game. Glessner follows Valderas on the boards with 6.2 per game.
Loyola is currently on a three game win streak, looking for its fourth straight win at Iona. The last time the Greyhounds won four in a row was early in the 2002-03 season with an overtime win over Marist 68-61, a victory over Iona 64-38, over UMBC 55-41 and Towson 55-50.
