Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's basketball team takes yet another road trip this week, this time to Howard. The Greyhounds (1-4, 1-1) are looking to end the Bison's win streak (4-0).
Loyola earned its first win of the season in a win over conference opponent Canisius, 72-64, on the road. Sophmore Meghan Wood tallied a new career-high of 12 points off the bench against the Golden Griffs and topped herself with 14 points in the following contest, a 72-64 loss to Niagara.
Howard's last contest featured an 86-80 win over the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The Bison are currently led in scoring by Daisha Hicks with 18.3 points per game. She is followed by Simon Agee at 12.8 and Brittany James at ten points a game.
For the Greyhounds, junior Katie Scherle and Krystle Harrington share the lead with an average of nine points a game each. Scherle leads on the boards with 5.4 a game while Harrington leads in the assist column with four a contest.
The last time the two squads met was at the University of North Carolina Greensboro's Thanksgiving Tournament on November 30, 2002. Loyola won that contest 73-70.
