Women's Basketball Faces Niagara

Niagara University, N.Y. - The Loyola College women's basketball team is looking for their second win of the season Sunday as they travel to Niagara. The Greyhounds earned their first win of the year with a 63-58 victory over Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rival Canisius Friday. Loyola is currently 1-3, 1-0 while the Purple Eagles are 3-3, 1-0.

Loyola holds the advantage over the Purple Eagles, 22-10. The squads have split the series the last three seasons with both teams winning on their home court.

The Greyhounds are currently led in scoring by junior Krystle Harrington at 9.8 points a game. She is followed by juniors Lauren Troupe and Katie Scherle at 8.5 and eight points respectively. The duo lead on the boards with Scherle first at 4.5 and Troupe following with four a game. Harrington leads in assists with 3.25 a game.

The Purple Eagles are coming off a 78-70 win over conference opponent Rider Friday. Niagara sports three players averaging double-figures in scoring with pre-season Player of the Year Eva Cunningham leading the way with 18.3 points a game along with 5.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds. Shaunna Ambrose follows with 17.3 points a game. Toni Smalley rounds out the top three with 11.8 points and a team high six rebounds a game.
