Baltimore, Md. - Saturday the Greyhounds travel to Emmitsburg, Md. in search for their second win of the season. Loyola (1-4) face Mount St. Mary's (0-3) who are winless this season.
ABOUT THE `HOUNDS
Loyola is currently led in scoring (14.2), rebounding (7.8) and assists (3.6) by senior Jill Glessner. She's followed by junior Meghan Wood with 10.8 points and 6.4 rebounds a game. Junior Tynisha Davis is third in points per game with 9.4 points a game. Senior Brittany Dunn adds 8.6 points and leads the team in steals with 1.6 per game.
SERIES RECORD VS. MOUNT ST. MARY'S
Mount St. Mary's holds a 21-7 advantage in the series with Loyola that began in 1974, the fourth season of Greyhound women's basketball. Loyola won that first meeting 60-31. The largest stretch of games won in the series was 11 games by the Mountaineers spanning from the 1981-82 season to the 1991-92 season.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Dita Krumberga leads the team in scoring at 11.8 and is second in rebounds at five a game. Brianna Gauthier and Tiffany Green are tied for second in scoring with 9.8 points a game. LaTonya Butler rounds out the leading scorers with 8.5 points and is the leading rebounder with 5.5 rebounds a game.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET
The last time these two teams met was early in the 1996-97 season in Emmitsburg where the Mount won 75-67.
Loyola and Mount St. Mary's face four common opponents this season. The Greyhounds have already faced Towson while the Mount will take on the Tigers on Dec. 30. The Greyhounds have also already met with UMBC and Drexel while Mount St. Mary's will play those teams on Dec. 17 and Dec. 28 respectively. Loyola will visit St. Francis (Pa.) just days after playing the Mountaineers while MSM faces their NEC opponent on Jan. 22 and Feb. 10.
