BALTIMORE, Md. - After finishing one of its most successful seasons in program history and earning a No. 2 ranking in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Poll, the Loyola University Maryland women's basketball team is receiving votes in the Women's Mid-Major Top 25.
The poll, which is put out by CollegeInsider.com, is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Great West, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast.
The panel of voters consists of coaches from the some of the schools in the member conferences. Loyola received four votes in the preseason poll, while MAAC foe Marist is ranked third and received one first-place vote. Wisconsin- Green Bay is ranked No. 1 to start the season.
The Greyhounds open the season at No. 11/10 Maryland on Friday, November 11 at the Comcast Center in College Park, Md., at 7 p.m.
