Q & A With Senior Meredith Tolley

Meredith Tolley, a senior from Monrovia, Md. and a graduate Urbana High School, took the time during picture day to answer a few questions.

Tolley played in 27 games and started 22 last season, averaging 29.5 minutes per game and scoring a total of 191 points. She had 116 rebounds, 35 assists, nine blocks and 12 steals. Her best game came against Navy (11/20) when she had 22 points, one block, six rebounds and shot 80-percent from the free throw line.

In her three year career as a Greyhound, Tolley has played in 86 games, starting in 62, and averaging 26.5 minutes a game. She has scored 614 points, an average of 7.1 a game. Tolley has 380 rebounds, 92 assists, 51 blocks and 45 steals.

What is your favorite thing about Loyola basketball?
My teammates because we all get along really well and they are like family.

What artist that takes up most of my iPod?
Carrie Underwood.

What are your pregame rituals?
Get dressed, listen to music and dance around.

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment so far as an athlete?
Being voted captain by my Loyola teammates.

What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas because I get to go home and see all my family.

How did you get started playing basketball?
I started playing when I was 10. I was in fifth grade and all my best friends were playing and they said I should play because I was tall. I have been this height forever.

What is your greatest fear?
I hate heights.

On the team who do you look up to?
Erica! Because she has been here as long as I have. So, we just get along a lot.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and Why?
Thailand because my best friend is there now.

What is an annoying habit you possess?
I click pens all the time in class.

What would you like to be doing in ten years?
Have a career.

What is the best advice you have received from you Coach?
To keep my head straight, like when I miss a shot. That is usually the answer.
