BALTIMORE - Loyola College's women's basketball team has released its 2007-2008 schedule that includes 10 non-conference and 18 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games.
The Greyhounds open at home in Reitz Arena on Friday, November 9, with a 7 p.m. game against Drexel.
Loyola plays seven non-conference contests prior to opening its MAAC slate with a home match-up against Niagara at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 7.
The early season line-up includes games against 2007 NCAA Championships participants Maryland and UMBC. Loyola takes on the Terrapins, the 2006 national champions, at the Comcast Center in College Park, Md., on Tuesday, November 20, at 7 p.m. The Greyhounds host UMBC on Monday, December 3, also at 7 p.m.
Loyola also plays non-conference games against two other teams from the State of Maryland. The Greyhounds play at Mount St. Mary's on December 1 in a double-header with the two school's men's teams. Loyola then travels up the road to Towson for a 7 p.m. contest on Friday, December 28.
The Greyhounds host Villanova on Sunday, November 11, then travel to La Salle for a game on Wednesday, November 13. Loyola returns to Philadelphia on Sunday, November 25, for a game at the famed Palestra against Penn. The team closes its non-conference schedule with a 2 p.m. New Year's Eve contest at Bucknell.
In addition to MAAC games at home against Niagara and Canisius in December, the Greyhounds play 16 conference contests beginning in January.
The Greyhounds will play defending MAAC champion Marist in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Sunday, January 27. The game will be televised on MAAC TV.
Loyola wraps up its regular-season schedule on Saturday, March 1 with a home game against Fairfield at 2 p.m.
The Greyhounds will then travel to the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y., for the MAAC Championships that will be played March 6-9.
