Women's Basketball Announces 2005-06 Schedule

Baltimore, Md. - The 2005-06 women's basketball season schedule was completed today with the addition of Loyola's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponents. The schedule features 12 home games for the Greyhounds including two double headers with the men's squad.

Loyola, under first-year head coach Joe Logan, opens the season at home with Virginia Commonwealth on November 18. The Greyhounds will also host St. Francis (Pa.) and Howard as a part of their non-conference schedule while visiting Hartford, Long Island, Liberty and San Diego State for a holiday tournament.

Mixed in with the non-conference schedule is two early MAAC games, the first at Iona on December 9 and the second at home versus Fairfield on December 11. After returning from San Diego, Loyola faces conference opponents Saint Peter's (January 5) and Manhattan (January 7) at home before traveling to Liberty (January 10) for the final non-conference game of the season.In addition to their three non-conference home contests, the `Hounds will play nine MAAC contests in Reitz Arena including a double header with the men's team on December 11 and January 22.
