Aug. 8, 2007

The Greyhounds Women's Basketball Team recently participated in PMJ Career Awareness Day, assisting in all aspects of a program that introduced more than 80 Baltimore City youths to careers and the value of education. The event was held on August 4 at McGuire Hall on the Loyola campus and was sponsored by the Preston Mitchum Jr. Foundation and Loyola's Year of the City.

Team members helped with the organization of the event, acted as group leaders and talked about earning a scholarship to college. The group heard from 15 presenters about different careers they could embark on during their lives. Senior Vika Sholokhova, junior Ashley Alexander, sophomore Kaitlin Grant and incoming freshmen Melissa Bangay, Alex Berlin, Candice Walker and Meredith Tolley along with assistant coach Marti Whitmore participated.
