In the gold medal game on Sunday, July 30, she scored 10 points in a 77-75 win over New York City.

"I really enjoy playing in Empires," Wood said. "It is a great way to stay in shape over the summer and play against some great competition.

Wood's Hudson Valley team included two more Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference players, Marist's Shannon Minter and Julianne Viani. Wood also competed against Niagara's Shaunna Ambrose who played for the Western squad.

"I've met some great friends and truly enjoy the experience," Wood said. "It's even better when we get to bring home the Gold Medal."

Wood was unable to play for the Greyhounds last season due to a back injury but is expected to return for the 2006-07 season.
