Former Greyhound Glessner Named English Basketball League Player Of The Year

England Basketball named former Loyola women's basketball standout Jill Glessner the English Basketball League Division's One Women's Player of the Year after leading the Nottingham Wildcats to the EBL Semifinals.

Glessner, who recently completed her second season for the Wildcats, finished in the league's top ten in points, rebounds, steals and assists.

The 2007 Loyola graduate averaged 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.4 steals and 3.2 assists per game. She shot 52.3-percent from the field and 77-percent from the free-throw line and was named the EBL's Import Player of the Year and was named to the All-EBL First Team.

Glessner was an All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference First Team member as a senior for Loyola in 2006-2007 and helped the Greyhounds advance to the 2006 MAAC Championship Game and the 2007 MAAC Semifinals.
