Women's Basketball Faces Canisius in the Quarterfinals of MAAC Tournament

Bridgeport, Conn. - Loyola enters the 2007 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 3 seed. In the quarterfinal round they are set to face No. 6 seeded Canisius at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 2. This will be the seventh tournament meeting between these two teams with the `Hounds holding a 5-1 advantage.

Jill Glessner continues to lead Loyola in scoring with 14.9 points per game. She also leads in assists with 3.2 a game, is second in steals with an average of 1.6 and third in rebounds at 5.6. Vika Sholokhova is second in scoring with 11.7 points per game while leading in rebounds with 7.8 a game. Brittany Dunn is third in scoring, just short of 10 points a game, at 9.9 points and is first in steals with an average of 1.9 a game and is second in assists with 2.7 a game. Meghan Wood rounds out the top scorers with 9.0 points per game while coming in second in rebounds, averaging 6.7 boards a game. The remaining Greyhounds range between six and 1.4 points per game.

Canisius is currently led in scoring by Abby Radunske's 10.8 points per game. She's followed by Megan Lyte with 10.7 points and a team-high 6.4 rebounds an outing. Amanda Cavo adds 10.6 points a game while Brittane Russell averages 9.2 points an outing. Russell leads in steals with 2.1 on average. Jessie Lamparski rounds out the top scorers with 7.4 points per game and a team-high 3.9 assists an outing. Laura Granzow leads the team in blocks with an average of 1.6.

Canisius swept the series between these two teams winning in Reitz Arena on Feb. 23 by a score of 63-59 and in Buffalo on Feb. 1 by a score of 61-53. Loyola is 9-9 at home against the Griffs, 6-12 at Canisius and 5-1 on a neutral court. All six of those neutral games have been played in the MAAC Tournament.
