Three Earn All-MAAC Women's Basketball Honors

Edison, N.J. - Junior guard Miriam McKenzie was named to the 2010-2011 All-MAAC First Team, while sophomore guard Katie Sheahin and graduate student Erica DiClemente earned All-MAAC Second Team honors, announced the conference announced today.

McKenzie leads the Greyhounds and is ranked second in conference with 413 points, an average of 14.2 per game this season. She also tops Loyola with 142 rebounds, an average of 7.2.

She set a new career-high this season, 23 points, in an overtime win at home against Siena and matched that performance that two more times in the next two weeks. McKenzie was also an All-MAAC First Team member last season.

The junior has led the team 13 times in scoring, 15 times in rebounding and has eight double-doubles this season. McKenzie has been named MAAC Player of the Week two times this season.

Sheahin leads the team in three categories with: 120 assists, 106 steals, and 29 blocks this season. She averaged of 3.7 steals per game, best in the league, and is one of three Loyola players to average in double-figures this season with 11.9 points. Sheahin set a new career-high last weekend, scoring 28 points during the Greyhounds' come-from-behind victory over Iona on Friday.

DiClemente, has scored 339 points this season and 1,065 so far in her career at Loyola. She is now 12th on the Greyhounds' all-time scoring list and set a new career-high 23 points in back-to-back games this season against Maryland and Mount St. Mary's.

The trio will head into the MAAC Tournament as a number-two seed where they will face the winner of Thursday's first round game between No.7 Canisius and No.10 Niagara, in the second-round on Friday. Tip-off is set for at 9:30 a.m.
