Baltimore, Md. - Seniors Lauren Troupe and Krystle Harrington both earned spots on the 2006 All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference teams as announced by the conference office Monday. The all-conference teams are selected by the conference coaches. Troupe was named to the league's first-team while Harrington was a third-team selection. It is the first time in both Troupe and Harrington's careers that they have earned all-conference honors.
Troupe has had her best season yet as a Greyhound this year, posting a team-best 11.2 points per game and a team-second 5.7 rebounds a game. She led the team in scoring in 10 games this season, scoring a season-high of 21 points at home against Iona. Troupe has scored double-digit in 17 of 26 games while recording four double-doubles on the season. She leads the league in free-throw percentage at 88.0% percent, is 12th in the conference in scoring and 10th in rebounding. Troupe was named the conference Player of the Week twice this season. The 6-0 forward's career totals now sit at 886 points, 483 rebounds, 116 assists, 47 steals and 31 blocks in 106 games with 72 career starts.
Harrington, a third-team selection, falls fourth in a balanced scoring effort for Loyola with 9.4 points per game. She dishes out a team-best 4.1 assists, which also ranks her fifth in the MAAC. Harrington adds 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals a game. She has started in all 27 games this season and has scored double-figures in 14 games this season including tying a career-high of 20 at Canisius and nine assists at Iona. The 5-5 point guard posts career totals of 840 points, 404 assists, 302 rebounds, 192 steals and 14 blocks in 112 games with 88 starts.
One of the five players named to the conference first-team will be named 2005-06 Pepsi MAAC Player of the Year on Friday, March 3 at the Awards Reception held at the Exhibition Hall at Pepsi Arena from 5pm - 7pm.
