Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola College women's basketball team will face Rider in the first round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament beginning Thursday, March 3. The Greyhounds (10-17, 9-9) earned the sixth seed in the championship bracket while the Broncs (8-19, 6-12) landed in the ninth spot.
Loyola swept both games in the series with Rider this season with a 79-65 victory at home and a 62-49 win on the road just three days ago. The two teams met in the first round of last season's tournament with the Greyhounds coming out on top 79-65 for Loyola to advance to the second round.This year's tournament will take place at the HSBC Arena and will commence with No. 5 seed Siena playing No. 10 seed Iona on Thursday at noon. Marist, last year's champion, is this year's No. 1 seed and will have a double bye into Saturday's semifinal.
