Baltimore, Md. - Senior forward Lauren Troupe was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Co-Player of the week as announced by the conference office Monday. Troupe helped Loyola to victories over Manhattan and Marist last week to earn the award. She shares the honor with Marist senior Fifi Camara.
Troupe posted double-doubles against both the Jaspers and the Red Foxes to average 12.5, 10.5 rebounds, two steals and 1.5 assists on the week. She scored 13 points and pulled down eight boards to lead the Greyhounds in both categories in a 55-47 win at Manhattan Thursday. Troupe added 12 points and 11 rebounds in a 62-59 win over conference leader Marist. Troupe's performance helped Loyola defeat Marist for the first time in the last eight meetings.
Currently, Troupe leads her team in scoring with an average of 11.1 points per game while pulling down a team second-best 5.6 rebounds a game. She ranks 13th in the conference in scoring and ninth in rebounds while leading the MAAC in free-throw percentage at 88.1%.
Troupe and her classmates will be honored prior to Loyola's final home game of the season against Niagara on Friday, February 23 at Reitz Arena. The Greyhounds wrap up the regular season at Fairfield on Saturday, February 25.
