Baltimore, Md. - Sunday the Loyola College women's basketball team hosts Iona in the its final home game of the 2004-05 season. Both teams are looking to extend their win streaks to two. Loyola holds a 26-9 advantage in the series with Iona. The Greyhounds hold a two game streak in the series with the last win coming earlier this season, 71-59 at the Yantelli Center.
Junior Katie Scherle continues to lead the Greyhounds in both scoring and rebounding for the second consecutive season. She averages 11.4 points and 6.6 rebounds a game. Classmate Krystle Harrington follows in scoring at 9.1 points a game with team-highs of 4.5 assists and 2.3 steals a game. Jackie Valderas has moved into third in scoring at 8.4 points and is second on the boards with an average of 4.9 a game. While Lauren Troupe is close by in both categories with 8.2 points and 4.6 rebounds a game.
Iona is currently led by sophomore Meg Abele with 15.5 points a game. She is followed by Melissa Yeagley at 9.6 points and Regan Pettijohn at 8.5 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds a game. Toni Horvath averages a best of 3.5 assists a game.
